Man arrested after trying to skip paying restaurant check

A man tried to leave a restaurant without paying his check and ended up leaving in police custody. West Reading police were called to a restaurant about 12:24 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 400 block of Penn Avenue after the man wouldn't pay. Officers stopped and identified the man, whose friend ended up paying his check. He was arrested anyway; the man had outstanding warrants.
