Woman leaves toddler at home, gets stopped by police

A West Reading police officer stopped a vehicle about 9:53 p.m. Jan. 21 at South Third and Penn Avenues in the borough. During the stop, the officer learned three facts that got the driver in trouble.

  1. Her driver's license was suspended for insurance cancellation;
  2. She had two outstanding warrants; and
  3. She had left her 4-year-old son at home alone.

The woman was arrested on the warrants and police call Children and Youth Services to check on the child.
