Police break up late-night picnic in baseball field in Wyomissing

That old movie line is sometimes true: “If you build it, he will come.” Especially if by “it” you mean a small fire and by “he” you mean the police.

Just before midnight on May 30, a Wyomissing police officer spotted flames in centerfield of a baseball field in the 900 block of North Seventh Street. When the officer approached the fire turned out to come from candles, where some folks had spread out a blanket and were snacking in the moon (and candle) light. The officer told them about park restrictions and sent them on their way.

  1. I'm sure glad we have such brave officers protecting us from people using parks to picnic at in the night.
