Fight call leads to drunken-driving arrest in West Reading

Shortly before 3 a.m. Jan. 9, a fight reportedly broke out at a restaurant in the 400 block of Penn Avenue in West Reading. One man threw water in another man’s face in front of the cash register and a melee ensued. Within moments about 20 to 25 people were in the restaurant parking lot for the fight. By the time police arrived everyone had left. However, as the officers showed up someone driving a Dodge Durango struck a parked car on its way out. Police stopped the SUV and arrested the driver on suspicion of drunken driving.
