Reading man charged with assault following fight in restaurant

Police officers from five departments, including West Reading, were called about 3:19 a.m. Jan. 10 to a restaurant in the 400 block of Penn Avenue in the borough for a report of a fight. One man was arrested, a 22-year-old Reading resident, and charged with one count each of simple assault, aggravated assault, harassment, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
