Man calls police about suspected vandalism at West Reading Elementary School

A man who saw black crosses in the morning of Sept. 17 on the side of West Reading Elementary School in the 400 block of Chestnut Street in Wyomissing called borough police to report graffiti. As a police officer took pictures of the crosses the school’s custodian walked by. He explained that he painted the crosses on the side of the building so he’d know where the drain pipes are when they’re covered with snow.
