Security guards saw a man putting merchandise in his pockets about 1:40 p.m. Feb. 7 at a store in the 1100 block of Berkshire Boulevard in Wyomissing. The value of the stolen goods was $15.03 but he also had items from a nearby store that he hadn't paid for, either. Police identified the suspect, a 21-year-old Wernersville man, as a resident of a halfway house. He had pleaded guilty in 2010 to burglary, theft and other charges.
State corrections officers took him into custody. Borough police charged him with retail theft and receiving stolen property.
