Dog distracts driver, who runs over traffic sign

A woman driving with her dog about 6:38 a.m. Feb. 6 lost control on an on-ramp to the West Shore Bypass in Wyomissing. The dog, who was in the front passenger seat, distracted her and she drove off the road, hit a traffic sign and flipped the vehicle. A second vehicle ran over debris from the wreck and sustained a flat tire.

The first driver was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation; no word on the condition of the dog.
