West Reading man, woman accused of assault

West Reading police received a 911 hangup call about 2:26 a.m. Jan. 30 in the 100 block of South Sixth Avenue. When they arrived they arrested one man, a 41-year-old borough resident, and charged him with simple assault and harassment. He was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail. But the woman suspected of involvement, a 38-year-old borough woman, also faces charges. She too was charged with simple assault and harassment.
