West Reading shoplifting suspect waives preliminary hearing

A 41-year-old Reading woman faces a possible jury trial on charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property stemming from a Jan. 13 arrest in West Reading. Borough police charged the woman after she was stopped by security guards in a store in the 500 block of Penn Avenue. She waived her preliminary hearing Feb. 3 and was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail.
