Wyomissing neighborhood hit by series of vehicle break-ins

Between 1:07 and 11:16 a.m. Sept. 15, four thefts were reported within a four-block radius in Wyomissing:

  • Someone stole a GPS device, some CDs and a garage door opener from a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Monroe Avenue. The victim said the doors were locked but police found no signs of forced entry.
  • Someone took $5 in change and rummaged through the glove compartment of an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Lehigh Avenue.
  • A woman's purse was stolen from her vehicle overnight while it was parked in the 600 block of Trent Avenue. A neighbor later found the purse but police didn't know if anything had been stolen.
  • Sometime between 6 p.m. Sept. 14 and 6 a.m. Sept. 15, someone took a GPS device worth $160 and rummaged through a briefcase in an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Lehigh Avenue.
