Vehicle break-ins hit West Reading neighborhoods

Sometime between Aug. 20 and Aug. 22 several vehicles were broken into and items stolen. West Reading police didn't indicate whether the vehicles were locked, but it's always a good idea to lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight. When in doubt, hide it.

The thefts were reported:

  • About 8:45 a.m. Aug. 21, 300 block of Linden Lane;
  • 8 a.m. Aug. 21, 300 block of Sunset Road;
  • 5 p.m. Aug. 21, 300 block of Linden Lane. In this case the thief or thieves took money and an owner's manual.
  • About 7:35 a.m. Aug. 22, 400 block of Spruce Street;
  • About 7:45 a.m. Aug. 22, first block of South Sixth Avenue;
  • About 8:43 p.m. Aug. 22, 300 block of Franklin Street. Someone smashed a passenger-side of a Suzuki sedan and took a GPS device.
