Car break-ins strike Wyomissing neighborhood

A thief or thieves broke into five vehicles parked in a residential section of Wyomissing, near Museum Road. All the break-ins were discovered July 18:

  • At 9:48 a.m., a woman who left her vehicle unlocked in the first block of Vireo Drive discovered some items had been taken from it.
  • At 10:01 a.m, a man who left his vehicle unlocked in the first block of Cardinal Road discovered it had been ransacked and some items taken.
  • At 10:36 a.m., a man discovered someone had gone through his unlocked vehicle in the 1500 block of Old Mill Road and taken loose change.
  • At 12:15 p.m., a woman found someone smashed the front driver’s side window and took her wallet from the center console of her vehicle parked in the 900 block of Old Mill Road.
  • At 1:45 p.m., a man discovered someone had gone through his unlocked vehicle in the first block of Cardinal Road.
I'm not usually inclined to editorialize, but I think it's worth repeating advice that police often give: Lock your vehicle and don't leave any valuables in sight.

There. Enough of the soapbox.
