Shoplifter pushes his luck, gets arrested

A man was caught stealigna bottle of water about 4:35 p.m. June 1 from the Rite-Aid in the 500 block of Penn Avenue in West Reading. Because he didn’t have any prior arrests, police told him he’d receive a citation in the mail. Less than an hour later, the same man took another bottle of water from a store in the 300 block of Penn Avenue. This time, police arrested him and charged him with retail theft and receiving stolen property. The suspect, a 33-year-old Manheim, Pa., resident, was jailed in lieu of $500 bail.
