Man complains to police when bar won’t let him in

A man tried to get in to Brewer’s Pub shortly after 1 a.m. May 23 but the bouncers wouldn’t let him in. Unwilling to take “no” for an answer, the man approached a West Reading police officer and complained about his treatment. The officer told the man to go home. He made it a half-block before stopping. The officer became suspicious and caught up with the man who, police discovered, had cocaine on him. The suspect, a 33-year-old West Reading man, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. He was jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
