Theft suspect faces charges of threatening his wife
Store security stopped a man on suspicion of shoplifting about 3:28 p.m May 11 in a store in the 500 block of Penn Avenue in West Reading. When borough police arrived, they discovered the man appeared drunk and had threatened his wife. He was arrested and charged with retail theft, making terroristic threats and public drunkenness. Court records don’t indicate a hometown of the suspect, a 51-year-old man. He was jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail.
