Bicyclist injured when he slams into car in West Reading
A 16-year-old boy on a bicycle was injured when he struck a vehicle about 7:01 a.m. May 10 while traveling across the Penn Street bridge in West Reading. Police said the teen was on the opposite side of the road from the sidewalk and struck a vehicle that stopped at a stop sign. The rider and his bike slid under the vehicle but he was able to get out and retrieve his bike. He suffered a leg injury and scrapes on his back and was treated by Western Berks EMS. The teen’s mother came to take him to Reading Hospital for more treatment.
