New York man accused of shoplifting from Wal-Mart in Wyomissing
A store security guard stopped a man who tried to steal a $179 digital camera and a $149 camcorder from the display shelves about 12:39 p.m. Dec. 31 from the Wal-Mart in the 1100 block of Berkshire Boulevard in Wyomissing. The thief got as far as the main entrance before the guard stopped him. After borough police arrived the suspect, a 32-year-old man, claimed he lived in Reaading but his only valid ID was a New York state identification card. He was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property and jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail.
