Fight turns violent, leads to arrest in West Reading

A 42-year-old man was jailed the day before Thanksgiving on charges stemming from a fight about 9:32 p.m. Nov. 25 at the corner of Spruce Street and South Second Avenue in West Reading. The mother of the child who was attacked told police the suspect, a borough resident, kicked the child in the back of the legs during an argument. Officers told her to obtain a protection from abuse order. The man was arrested and charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
