Drunken-driving suspect arrested outside West Reading bar

A man driving a Ford Explorer stopped his SUV about 12:25 p.m. Dec. 15 in front of the Third & Spruce bar in the 200 block of South Third Avenue in West Reading. He got out of the SUV and started yelling at the people inside the bar, later drawing more attention to himself when he began hitting the top of the Explorer with a stick while he continued yelling. His actions -- and the traffic backup he was causing -- caught the attention of a West Reading police officer, who arrested him on suspicion of drunken driving.
