Scuffle at hospital injures police officer

A drunken and disorderly man was arrested shortly after midnight Oct. 11 when he raised a ruckus in the emergency room at Reading Hospital in West Reading. Borough police said he refused to cooperate with hospital security and they were called in to help. In the course of arresting him one police officer was injured. The suspect, a 20-year-old Reading man, was jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail and charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, trespassing and public drunkenness.
