Assault suspect waives preliminary hearing

A 22-year-old Mohnton man accused of beating his girlfriend waived his preliminary hearing Oct. 19. The man was arrested Sept. 11 after West Reading police responded to a report of an assault in the 400 block of Court Street. He still faces charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and drug possession.
