Woman faces drunken-driving charges
Wyomissing police stopped a car that had run a red light about 1:45 a.m. Aug. 20 in the 1000 block of Penn Avenue. The officer suspected the driver had been drinking, and she indeed failed a field sobriety test. At the time of the stop her blood-alcohol content was 0.16, double the legal threshold for drunken-driving penalties. Police took the woman to St. Joseph’s Hospital for a blood test and released her to the custody of a sober friend.
