Radio, purse stolen from cars parked within a block of each other

A man went out to his convertible about 9 a.m. Aug. 17 that was parked in the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue in Wyomissing. He had left the rear window down when he parked the car and in the meantime someone took the radio.

About 4:35 p.m. the same afternoon, a man who lives in the 1300 block of Garfield Avenue found a woman’s purse in the bushes of his yard. The purse belonged to his neighbor, who had left it in her unlocked car. A bank card was taken from her wallet. The thief – or thieves – also took a socket set worth $40 from the glove compartment.
