Speeding driver in West Reading faces drunken-driving charges

A West Reading police officer stopped a vehicle for speeding about 1:10 a.m. July 14 in the 200 block of Penn Avenue. The car had been traveling 41 mph in a 25 mph zone. The officer also discovered the driver had been drinking, so he took the man to St. Joseph’s Medical Center for a BAC test. Charges are pending the results of the test.
