Shortly after 9 p.m. July 15 emergency radio dispatchers received a report of a brawl involving 30 people near the intersection of Franklin Street and Kent Way in West Reading. When police arrived they found there were six people in the fight, including three brothers. The officers spoke to the fighters and, according to police, “it appears that this was a mutual and consensual fight.” All six will receive citations for disorderly conduct and the officers told them to stay from each other.
The following evening, about 6 p.m. July 16, the mother of one of the boys involved came to police with a printout from a MySpace page showing that someone had been harassing her son, and she would continue to report the harassment whenever it happened.
