A Metro Bank employee called Wyomissing police about 7 p.m. Jan. 10 after discovering a fraudulent transaction in the amount of $1,900 at the branch in the 2100 block of State Hill Road in the borough. After an investigation police accused a 29-year-old Northampton woman of committing the fraud. They charged her Feb. 15 with theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
According to court records, the crime took place nearly a year ago, on April 28, 2011.
