New Year's in West Reading

West Reading doesn't do a fireworks display to ring in the New Year. But that doesn't mean people here have to get their flash and glitz from a TV.

Penn Avenue provides the ideal vantage point for watching the fireworks at the Pagoda in Reading -- minus the noise and the crowds. Just after midnight Saturday, a small group gathered to watch the festivities from afar. The pictures below attempt to capture the first explosions of 2012.
