A man tried to buy four $100 gift cards about 2:06 p.m. Oct. 22 from a store in the 1100 block of Berkshire Boulevard in Wyomissing, using a check he stole from a roommate. Borough police arrested the suspect, a 39-year-old Robesonia man, and charged him with forgery, writing bad checks, receiving stolen property and attempted forgery. He was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail.
