Driver knocks down light pole, gets charged with drunken driving
A vehicle struck a light pole about 2:10 a.m. July 1 in the 200 block of Penn Avenue in West Reading. Police thought at the time the driver might have been drunk. They took the suspect, a 20-year-old Wyomissing man, to St. Joseph Hospital for a blood test. Their suspicions confirmed, they charged the man July 12 with two counts of drunken driving.
