Man tries, and fails, to take long walk home

A driver called police about 6:35 a.m. April 18 after noticing a man lying in the grassy median by an on-ramp to the Warren Street Bypass in Wyomissing. When police arrived the man, apparently drunk, was staggering along the shoulder of the road. He told police he was trying to walk home to Muhlenberg Township from a friend’s house in Sinking Spring, a roughly 8-mile trek. Police cited him for walking on a highway and drove him to the Muhlenberg Township line.
