Man stops for deer in middle of highway
A West Reading police officer spotted a car stopped about 11:34 p.m. April 24 in the middle of the West Shore Bypass with its flashers on. The driver got out of his car and asked the officer if he’d seen “that deer.” Apparently he saw a deer in the road and, while he didn’t hit it, he thought he should stop where he was (in the passing lane of a highway late at night, in the rain) and call 911. The officer told him next time, pull over to the side of the road first.
