Wyomissing police arrest suspect in pair of vehicle break-ins

Wyomissing police arrested a Reading man after three purses were stolen from the trunks of two vehicles in the evening of March 18. Shortly before 6 p.m. two purses were taken from the locked trunk of a vehicle parked in a lot across from the Wyomissing pool. About a half-hour later, a woman who parked her car in the 1200 block of Parkside Drive North discovered her purse had also been taken from the trunk. Police later found the purse in the park, along with the 28-year-old suspect.

The suspect, who had pleaded guilty in 2009 to attempted trespassing and theft, was charged this time with three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property and two counts of theft from a vehicle. He was jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
