Police search for car burglary suspect, find man with drugs instead
A West Reading police officer patrolling the area of Tulpehocken Avenue and Walnut Street in the borough about 7:15 p.m. March 15 stopped a man on a bicycle in the 400 block of Tulpehocken Avenue. The man raised the officer's suspicions because of the recent string of vehicle break-ins in the borough this month. He spoke with the cyclist, who eventually admitted having pot and drug paraphernalia in his pockets. The suspect, a 28-year-old West Lawn resident, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
