Sears employee charged with theft

A Sears employee was arrested about 3:32 p.m. Nov. 11 at the store in the Berkshire Mall, in the 1600 block of State Hill Road in Wyomissing. Police said he stole about $2,500 worth of merchandise, although he reportedly told his employer he’s stolen more in the past. The suspect, a 39-year-old Reading man, was charged with two counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property and jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail.
