Bank robbery suspect faces possible trial

A 20-year-old Wyomissing man accused in the Oct. 20 robbery of a Metro Bank in the 2100 block of State Hill Road waived his right to a preliminary hearing Nov. 9. Wyomissing police said the man robbed the bank about 7:06 p.m. He didn't show any weapons and got away with an undisclosed amount of money. The man ran away from the bank into the Wyomissing Hills neighborhood of the borough, where police caught him less than an hour after the heist. He was originally jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail but his bail was reduced to $25,000 at his Nov. 9 court appearance. He remains in custody. Charges of robbery, theft, receiving stolen property and drug possession remain.
