Off-duty officer nabs canister shoplifter

A police officer with the Bern Township police department saw a man leave a store the evening of June 26 in the 1700 block of Crossing Drive in Wyomissing with six cans of compressed air, valued at $38.04 total, in his pants. He stopped the would-be thief, whom Wyomissing police cited for retail theft and released.
